Hostess gift

My friend hosted a Christmas-cookie party last night. We made a few dozen orange ginger spritzes and snickerdoodles to share with everyone, and in the spirit of the holidays also brought Laura a small hostess gift: a set of ten holiday note cards with envelopes and ten blind-debossed (no ink) gift tags.

I’ve been trying to find a project to test the blind debossing process, so the gift tags were a perfect application for a subtle technique. I pressed the tags on two-ply paper to maximize the debossed impression.

I had a lot of fun pressing these and she can’t wait to use them!

Joy to the world

“Joy to the World” is one of my favorite Christmas carols. Maybe because the same phrase repeated over and over is easy to remember?

For our family’s Christmas cards this year, the lyrics of “Joy to the World” create a field behind the silhouette of the pine tree. I’ve printed the next batch with green ink instead of red, and stamped our address stamped on the back flap of the envelope.

Be sure to check your mailboxes for these awesome cards!

Two-color folded A1 cards are printed on 140lb Fabriano Tiepolo cotton paper.

bunny Christmas

We printed the bunny Christmas cards this week and shipped yesterday – Zella says just in time for her to write them all this weekend!

I added their names on the back of the card as a surprise personal touch.

Cards are 60 A1 (4-bar) folded, two-color printed on 140lb Fabriano Tiepolo cotton paper.

Zella’s bunnies

Proud parents to one-year old bunny Edgar, Zella and Keith wanted Christmas cards to reflect all the fun their furry friend represents. Bunny Christmas cards are not easy to find in stores, so Zella asked me months ago to design something unique for her. We’ve been friends for over 8 years and I was happy to help!

I had a lot of fun designing the different options below, finally agreeing that the rabbit silhouette had to be a holland lop just like Edgar – pointy-ear bunnies are just not the same! We kept the playful movement of the scarf and added a Bethlehem star to warm things up.

Just finished pressing the final selection today – off to mail tomorrow!
